The Office of Congressman Francisco Matugas of Siargao Island, LGU of Pilar, and the Department of
Tourism will be staging the first ever Siargao Invitational Gamefishing Tournament 2008 from
April 16-20, 2008 in Pilar, Siargao Island.

Pilar is 45 minutes by van either from Dapa or General Luna. Aside from surfing, we are promoting
Siargao as the Gamefishing Capital in the Philippines.

For this tournament, we are expecting 40-60 anglers from  the various fishing clubs in the
Philippines like Manila, Cebu, Davao and Cagayan. There are also some anglers coming from Malaysia,
Taiwan and Russian who confirmed to participate in this tournament.

We have organized several activities to make the event more festive and fun such as battle of the
bands, bikini babes 2008, cultural songs & dances, surfing exhibition and gamefishing 101.
